They are organizing an event along with Steve Bobenhouse, the owner of Fitness Sports in Des Moines, in which they are bring together local high school XC teams like Roosevelt HS to provide information about selecting proper racing shoes and podiatric sports medicine in general. Steve Bobenhouse has been a running shoe engineer and designer for many years, working for companies such as Saucony and others, so he will have a great deal of expertise on the subject. Also, their podiatric sports medicine organization will be there to provide any supplementary information about preventing running injuries. This gathering is for both athletes and their parents. Pizza will be provided, and the event will start at 5:30pm in the DMU auditorium.

UNIFORMS We as of this newsletter going to check out uniforms sometime this week. We are still discussion the option of purchasing the uniform
THE BAG Please take some time and start getting your “BAG” ready for the first meet. This bag should be packed the day before the meet. It Contains:
Uniform, socks, warm-ups, spikes Gloves, sweatshirt, hats, blanket Rain gear Spare shirt, socks, underwear, hat, gloves and shoe string
Four small safety pins small box of Kleenex Aspirin, or Tylenol, other drugs as needed Inhaler if needed, Bee sting stick if needed 2-Water bottle, snacks, energy bars, 2 one dollar bills, assorted change, One large garbage bag to put your bag in when it rains
WATER BOTTLE this year we would like athletes to bring two large water bottles full of water to the meets. This will reduce our “ecological footprint” of the team. If each athlete brings 2 large water bottles full of water and the coaching staff brings water coolers to refill the water bottles we can save almost 750 water bottles from going into a land fill
THE NEXT NEWSLETTER WILL COME OUT ON FRIDAY /SATURDAY MORNING…..HAVE A GOOD WEEK!!!!!!
